In Medford, a magical three days happen in Fall around the beginning of October. The Medford Jazz Jubilee takes over the city with three musically diverse days. Usually, about twenty different bands play varying types of Jazz in at least eight different locations around Medford. Some types of Jazz you may hear are traditional, rhythm and blues, swing, New Orleans style, Zydeco a combination of Creole and Cajun music from southern Louisiana. Often the artist medium or instrument is a rubboard. There are even big band sounds. There is dancing ‘in the streets‘, food vendors and exceptionally good vibes and just plain good fun. South of Medford, about 15 minutes, is Ashland. The Oregon Shakespeare Festival takes place here and is an experience not to be missed.
